Jacques MICHEL, artistic and choral director. |

Following a career as a junior high school music teacher, he has devoted himself to developing amateur choir singing since 1992. He is the professional director of the French/German Choral Society in Toulouse, of the Cant'Orens vocal ensemble, of a musical workshop called "Quatre vents" in Labège, and of the Quinte et Sens/Men's voices ensemble. He also teaches choral singing at the municipal music center in St Orens and directs vocal groups in two local services and departments: the Hôtel de Région and CRAM. |

Besides being a choral director, he takes an active part in various permanent musical projects: he is in charge of the artistic direction of Eurochorus, and collaborates as the need arises with several theatre companies. He has moreover initiated several creations in which choral art was central to performance: Orphée/Fantasmagorie musicale (1986), Jephte (1989), Mignonne, allons voir… (2000), Cantate du Nouveau Monde (2006). |

He has been Kantor at the Stiftskirche in Bonn since 1990. As is usually the case in Germany, he both directs the church's vocal ensembles and plays the organ. He is also the head of Bonn's French/German Choral Society, and regularly collaborates with Bonn's Beethovenorchester, both as a director and pianist. Since 2000 he has been in constant collaboration with a Japanese choir: Schola Cantorum in Nagoya,and regularly goes on tour in this country, at the head of the Stiftskirche Choir. At the last Choralies in Vaisons la Romaine (2010), he directed Duruflé's Requiem, with a choir selected from the Federation of the French/German choral societies. |

After his studies at the Toulouse Conservatoire and University, François Terrieux was admitted to Bernard Tétu's class, at the CNSMD in Lyon, where he obtained a diploma for the direction of vocal ensembles. Currently, he dedicates a large part of his professional life to children's voices, at the head of the "Lauzeta", a children's choir in Toulouse, of which he once was a chorister. With this ensemble, he carries out intensive creative work, in collaboration with directors of high renown, and also participates in the Europa Cantat and Europa Cantat Junior international festivals. In 2005, he created the "Chœur de Jeunes les Eclats", in continuity of action with the work performed at the Lauzeta. He also directs adults'choirs (notably the "Chœur Régional de la Vézère") and brings regular contribution to choir conductors' training , either within the scope of the IFMI (Institute for the training of musicians intervening in schools), or in courses organized in various departments of Midi Pyrénées.
